FAQ's

When you by a set of house or garage plans from Houseplanbroker.com, you have 3 format options. Each format (besides the CAD format) will be sent to you as a PDF file. You will be able to send these files right to your local print shop for printing. If you have a printer that can print on 11x17 paper, you will be able to print the “half” size from your computer saving you a great deal of money on printing costs.

The first option is the standard 24”x36” or “full” size drawing set. This is the format most building departments require you to submit for a building permit and are mainly 1/4” = 1’-0” scale. Usually they will need at least two sets, your building depart may differ, so it is required you check with your local building department to make sure.

The second option is a 11”x17” or “half” size drawing set that is mainly 1/8” = 1’-0” scale. We came up with this idea to keep printing cost way down. There is no reason to spend your hard earned money on copies of full size prints to give out to subs to bid from (and probably never see again), when you can give out the half size prints you can save money on by printing yourself.

The last option is the full CAD file of the prints. This would be the best option if you want to make a bunch of changes to the print yourself. The drawings are in AutoCAD 2010 format.

Of course you will be able to purchase all formats if needed.
